Early Belle II measurements of the tau lifetimePublic
The tau-lepton lifetime represents a fundamental parameter within the Standard Model framework, contributing to the test of lepton flavor universality. As the present tau lifetime uncertainty is below 0.2%, a competitive measurement is particularly challenging. The method proposed for the Belle II experiment exploits the tiny beam spot size at the…

Early charmless measurements at Belle IIPublic
The talk is about the early Belle II measurements of branching fractions, CP asymmetries and longitudinal polarizations in charmless B decays with 2019-2020 data. A sample size of 34.6/fb at the Upsilon(4S) resonance is used. The results are compatible with world averages and provide understanding of the detector performance and analysis tools.

The Belle II experiment and first physics resultsPublic
The Belle II experiment has recently started operations at the SuperKEKB e+e− collider, located at the KEK laboratory in Tsukuba (Japan). The unprecedented luminosity that it plans to collect in the next decade (50 ab−1) will allow Belle II to greatly exceed the precision achieved by the first generation of B- factory experiments (BaBar and Belle)…

Early charmless B physics at Belle IIPublic
We report on the first measurements of branching fractions, CP-violating charge asymmetries, and longitudinal polarization fractions in charmless 𝐵 decays at the Belle II experiment. We use a sample of electron-positron collisions collected in 2019 and 2020 at the Υ(4𝑆) resonance that corresponds to 34.6 fb−1 of integrated luminosity. The results …

First Results on $V_{ub}$ and $V_{cb}$ with the Belle II experimentPublic
Precision measurements of $V_{ub}$ and $V_{cb}$ play a central role in tests of the CKM sector of the Standard Model and complement direct measurements of CP violation in B meson decays. In this talk, first studies for measuring $V_{ub}$ and $V_{cb}$ with semi-leptonic decays are presented using collision events recorded at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ r…

We report on first measurement of branching fractions ($\mathcal{B}$) and $CP$ asymmetries ($\mathcal{A}$) in various charmless $B$ decays at Belle II. We utilize a data sample of 34.6 fb$^{-1}$ which is collected in SuperKEKB $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider at the $\Upsilon$(4S) resonance in 2019 and 2020. The analysis procedures, including the Monte Carlo…

Irradiation Burst Studies on Belle II PXD Module ComponentsPublic
The Belle II detector started recording collision data in spring 2019. During physics runs, unexpected irradiation burst events occurred, which exposed the inner detectors and especially the PXD (PiXel Detector) to unwanted levels of prompt irradiation. Dedicated measurement campaigns were carried out at the Mainz Microtron (MAMI), which aimed to …

We present the results of a study of exclusively reconstructed 𝐵 → 𝜋^−ℓ^+𝜈_ℓ decays, where ℓ is an electron or a muon. Complementary 𝐵 meson is reconstructed using the Full Event Interpretation algorithm. We take a piece of MC as a data and using an independent second MC sample try to analyse the method and its implications. We then try to make an…

A novel method for tau-lepton lifetime measurement with early Belle II dataPublic
The Belle II experiment, operating at the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider, is going to collect 50/ab of integrated luminosity by 2030, a factor 50 more than its predecessors. The large cross section for tau pair production at the Y(4S) resonance energy, will yield to about 46 billion produced tau pairs, making Belle II, besides a B-factory, a…
